Hey South Shore, last weekend got cut short by Saturday's rain. A few of the events we featured were canceled or postponed, and a lot of plans got pushed indoors. If you were one of the people who had something on the calendar that didn't happen, you're not alone. We checked the forecast for this one and it's looking like a much better setup. Sun, milder temps, and the kind of late-April weather that makes Heckscher feel right and Main Streets feel alive again.
This weekend builds across all four days. Thursday eases in with free live music in Patchogue. Friday has two completely different stages in two completely different rooms, plus happy-hour music on Babylon's Main Street. Saturday is the centerpiece: an outdoor Earth Day celebration in Babylon, a folk legend at Boulton, and a late-night launch party that's going to be loud. Sunday slows things down with a 5K, a free family fest, and live taiko drums.
Six months in, we keep hearing from readers who tell us SSD has helped them figure out their weekend, find a new restaurant, or catch a show they would've missed. That's the whole point of doing this every Thursday morning. If you've got a tip, a favorite spot, or just want to say hi, we'd love to hear from you. Now let's get into it.
