Hey South Shore, this past Sunday was Mother's Day and the days just before it felt like spring finally settling in. Cool, dry, breezy days, the kind of weather that lets you actually plan an afternoon and have it work out. Mother's Day brunches were packed, the parks were busy, and if your mom got the day she deserved, that's the only thing that matters.

This week hands off one community Sunday to the next. Last Sunday was for moms. This Sunday is for the Hispanic Day Parade through downtown Patchogue. Thursday and Friday are wet, but by Saturday and Sunday, it looks like things will be much better. Leonid & Friends play Patchogue Theatre Saturday night, Shakedown Citi takes Boulton on Friday, and the Italian Food Festival takes over Lindenhurst's Great Lawn all day Saturday. Pick your lane.

One more thing before we sign off: we're putting the finishing touches on a referral program that thanks readers who share SSD with their corner of the South Shore. Watch for the rollout in the next couple of issues. Until then, enjoy the weekend. Now let's get into it.

Leonid & Friends - Patchogue Theatre (Patchogue)

The Russian super-band that note-for-note recreates Chicago's brass-driven catalog brings their full-horn production to Patchogue Theatre. If you grew up on "25 or 6 to 4" and "Saturday in the Park," this is the closest you'll get to hearing it live again. Saturday night, downtown Patchogue, doors open early.
