Hey South Shore,

We all had Patchogue's Fall Festival marked for October 10. Then the Greater Patchogue Chamber pulled it off the calendar at the last minute, with no date for its return, and that one stung.

Four weeks ago the new date went up, and now it finally happens this Saturday, November 7, starting at noon on Main Street. Every October festival on our list has wrapped, so this is the one still out ahead of us, with the Chili and Chowder competition, craft tables, and live music. Sunday at three, the Atlantic Wind Symphony brings a Sousa salute to our veterans at the Patchogue Theatre, a few days ahead of Veterans Day next Wednesday.

Before any of it, Melissa Bonilla of Bravo Supermarkets and Nicole Brown of Brown's Automotive step behind the bar at Arooga's in Patchogue tonight from 6 to 9, going head to head to fill Thanksgiving dinner baskets for Patchogue-Medford Youth & Community Services. A full table starts with a full basket.
