Hey South Shore,

Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, the first time it has since 2020, and the whole South Shore knows what a difference that one day makes. No school night to cut the evening short, no work morning waiting on the other side. Just a Saturday that belongs entirely to the costumes and the candy. And when it's over, Sunday morning hands us back the hour we lost in spring, so the night can run a little longer than usual.

Tomorrow night the Patchogue Theatre turns the whole thing over to the audience, with the current cast of Whose Live Anyway? making it up as they go. Then on Halloween itself, the Argyle in Babylon rolls six decades of the Rolling Stones across the screen with Streetfighter.

Before any of that, the Sayville Fire Department volunteers open their firehouse at 107 N. Main Street on Friday from 6 to 9. They'll walk neighbors through fire safety, introduce themselves, and let the kids get up close to the trucks. Stop in and say hello.
