Hey South Shore, last weekend Terry Street filled with easels for its arts fair and the Napoleon Dynamite cast took the Patchogue Theatre stage for a live anniversary night. If you walked Terry with the painters or grabbed a seat for the movie, you caught the neighborhood in that easy, end-of-summer stride. The equinox lands Tuesday, and this is the first weekend that actually feels like fall is stepping in.

Bay Shore's downtown gets something brand new this Friday: a Twilight Market debuting at the band shell, running every Friday through October 23. Over in Babylon, the Argyle opens its new season with On Your Feet. Two season openers on the same weekend, one downtown and one on a stage.

One more thing, and this one is for you rather than the calendar. Starting this week, you can pass South Shore Digest along with your own invite link. Every neighbor who joins through it sends a dollar to a local nonprofit, a different one each season, and this fall it's Long Island Cares. It also moves you up a short ladder of thank-yous: your first name in an issue at one, The Regulars, our guide to the spots we keep going back to, at three. Your link is right after the Top 5. Now let's get into it.
